The Highfield Country B & B was great. Very clean, commodious room with kitchen and coffee, crackers, fruit etc. Fabulous breakfast with farm fresh eggs, which must be experienced. Some difference from the usual. The hosts themselves are wonderful and enormously hospitable. Price is lower too than places directly in "downtown" Tilba.
Well, Tilba does not have much, but the few restaurants and pub there are very good. There is also a cheese factory. But I went because ten years earlier I had been there and for the first time in my life saw the milky way galaxy from horizon to horizon. That was worth the trip, as is the total darkness when overcast. Most of us from metropolis have no opportunity to experience these things. I plan to go again.
